Where Only God Could Open Doors: Middle East Ministry Update

Twenty-two-year-old Maya had endured a deeply painful and abusive relationship. The experience left her in severe depression and brought her to a place of such despair that she considered taking her own life. Though she sought professional help, she felt powerless and profoundly alone.

Then, in 2023, Maya was invited to Leading The Way‘s Evangelistic Celebration in Cairo, where she heard a Gospel message from Dr. Michael A. Youssef. In that moment, Maya surrendered her life to Jesus. The prayer team member who prayed with her said, “The Lord says to you, ‘You are not alone!'” For Maya, that message brought hope into one of the darkest moments of her life and reminded her that Jesus had not abandoned her. At the Celebration, over half of those in attendance — thousands of people just like Maya — made decisions for Christ.

Last month, we witnessed hundreds more people like Maya accept Christ as their Savior at our Christ Our Hope Good News Celebration in Amman, Jordan. And next month, Dr. Youssef will travel to Egypt for two more Celebrations on November 6 and 15. Together, we’re praying God will move powerfully among the people there once again, continuing the work He began years ago. Stories like Maya’s are the reason we go — and we look forward to seeing how God will move.
