DECEMBER GIFT CHALLENGE

As we head into a season of thanksgiving, may we all remember the sovereignty of our good God. As you go through this week-long Bible reading plan, take time each day to thank God for all He has done in your life and rest in the fact that His sovereign will flows from His infinite love for you.

"The sovereignty of God should tell all of His children that His grace is sufficient regardless of what happens." – Dr. Michael Youssef

DAY ONE

VERSE: "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together." – Colossians 1:16-17

PRAYER: Jesus, You hold all things together. You are the Creator of all things; everything belongs to You  and is under Your authority. You are almighty. You are my fortress; You hold me together.

DAY TWO

VERSE: "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight." – Ephesians 1:4

PRAYER: Thank You that before even the creation of the world, out of Your great love, You sovereignly chose me to be Your child. I know Your love is therefore not contingent on my thoughts and deeds. Yours is an unconditional, unchanging love.

DAY THREE

VERSE: "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." – Matthew 10:29-31

PRAYER: Your infinite power, sovereignty, and knowledge are working together for my good. I am humbled that I am known and loved by You. Thank You for revealing Yourself to me and drawing me into Your eternal Kingdom.

DAY FOUR

VERSE: "I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted."  – Job 42:2

PRAYER: I know You are in complete control. Your plan will always come to pass.

DAY FIVE

VERSE: "This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all."  – 1 John 1:5

PRAYER: Thank You that You are always good.

DAY SIX

VERSE: "Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed. They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen."   – Acts 4:27-28

PRAYER: You direct people's actions according to Your will, bringing good from evil to the glory of Your name.

DAY SEVEN

VERSE: "I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things. You heavens above, rain down my righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness flourish with it; I, the Lord, have created it. Woe to those who quarrel with their Maker, those who are nothing but potsherds among the potsherds on the ground. Does the clay say to the potter, 'What are you making?' Does your work say, 'The potter has no hands'?" – Isaiah 45:7-9

PRAYER: God, You are the author of righteousness, and in Your righteousness, You are all-wise, all-loving, and all-just. I know that You are sovereign over all things and that You are at work in the world to bring forth salvation and righteousness according to Your perfect plan. Help me to trust You and remember that You are working all things for the good of those who love You, whom You have called (Rom. 8:28). Thank You for Your faithfulness and sure promises.
