A highway leads to a mountain
God’s purpose is to restore our relationship with Him so that we experience freedom from sin and the joy of His everlasting love.

QUESTION:

“How do I overcome the shame of my sin and move forward spiritually?”

God’s purpose is to restore our relationship with Him so that we experience freedom from sin and the joy of His everlasting love.

ANSWER:

First, if the Spirit of God has been tugging on your heart or pointing to an area of your life, remember that it is never too late to confess your sins to God, repent of self-sufficiency, and surrender to Him anew.

Second, remember that even in times of spiritual failure, God never stops loving you. His love is constant and unchanging. His love is not dependent on our failure or success. In fact, it is out of His deep love for us that God instructs us and disciplines us. He loves us too much to leave us in sin and foolishness. He sounds the alarm bell and says, “Return to Me!”

Third, know that God allows times of brokenness to turn our hearts back toward Him. His purpose in our brokenness is not to crush us or sink us into despair. God’s purpose is to restore our relationship with Him so that we experience freedom from sin and the joy of His everlasting love.

Taking responsibility is the first step toward experiencing peace. Repent of your sin, receive God’s forgiveness, move forward in obedience, and watch as you experience a deeper walk with Him.
