AWAKE Boston
For centuries, Boston has been a city of revolutions—intellectual, political, and spiritual. From the Great Awakenings that shaped a nation to the world-renowned universities that are shaping tomorrow’s leaders, Boston’s influence upon our nation’s culture and history is undeniable. But today, as secularism rises and faith fades in America’s great cities, the need for revival is urgent.
On October 24-25, 2025, at the historic Tremont Temple and in partnership with local churches, Leading The Way will host its first official Awake America city-wide gathering, Awake Boston—a bold movement to ignite hearts, strengthen the Church, and mobilize believers for the next Great Spiritual Awakening in America.
Awake Boston will feature a two-part gathering culminating in a timely message from Dr. Michael Youssef, empowering believers to reach their communities and inviting the lost to surrender their lives to Christ. At a special collegiate gathering, Christian apologist, podcaster, and YouTuber Dr. Sean McDowell will teach a Master Class for students answering one of the great questions of our time: “If God, Why Evil?”
More than a gathering, this is a movement—part of Awake America, Leading The Way’s national effort to see the Church revitalized and believers mobilized for Christ in some of America’s most influential cities.

For Spiritual Renewal within the Church
According to Pew Research, only 8% of adults in the Boston metro area identify as evangelical Christian, and church attendance is low. Amid declining church participation and increasing secularization, Boston is hard soil for the Gospel. Nevertheless, God is moving—and there is great spiritual hunger among the remnant of believers there who long to see God move once again in New England. Pray for God to do a vibrant work of spiritual renewal that begins in the church and flows out into the city.

Home to Harvard, MIT, and more, Boston is the center of the educational universe, shaping the next generation of American leaders. Yet, many students wrestle with doubt and secular worldviews. Awake Boston will feature a special Master Class for collegiate students, tackling the question, “If God, Why Evil?” Pray that this event sparks lasting transformation in students’ lives and on their campuses.
